1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
10 For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet, but now you are drenched with it! (TPT)
9 You are proof of the authentic generation. You give testimony to the original idea of the royalty of true priesthood. The order of Melchizedek, you are a perfect prototype of the mass of humanity. You are the generation of people who exhibit the conclusion of the prophetic poetic thoughts. Thought of God that has come full circle. You published the excellence of his elevation and display that your authentic identity has been rescued out of obscurity and brought into a spectacular light.
10 You were once a people without identity, but have now discovered the integrity of your original identity in God, where there was no mercy. You have now received much mercy. (THE MIRROR)
As we engaged Heaven, we were referred to this passage of scripture. We had heard the phrase, “Kings and Priests” moments before. Upon reading the scriptures, we heard Enoch, who looked at us and plainly said, “Rule. Tell the people to rule. If they have obtained mercy and grace through Jesus, why shouldn't they rule?
In 1 Peter 2:25, it says we are completely vulnerable, just like sheep roaming astray without direction or protection. But now we have returned and are restored to the shepherd and guardian of our souls. Rule. Govern your territory. Do not permit wickedness to rule because you have the right to govern. You are a son and because you understand that position. You become the reigning spiritual authority in that territory for that purpose.
Stand in your place and rule from where you are and say, “Not in my territory! Not on my watch! Not in my town!”
In The Lord of the Rings, there is a scene that shows someone giving Aragon a sword and they say to him, “Become who you were born to be!” In becoming who we are born to be, then we rule and reign as a son, because we were born to become sons-Kings and priests.
Before you can rule however, you must become who you were born to be and learn to stand in that place. We have done a lot of work teaching about sonship. We were told to embolden ourselves. The next step is where we stand up and step into our place.
